The City of Paris has a population of more than 2 millions inhabitants, and about 11 millions with the suburb. In such a big area, people are very different. Let's talk about the Paris population :
We can say that the repartition of the Paris population is well established :
- The West of Paris is where Richer people live. Places around Trocadero or Passy are very expensive and only the higher categories can live there.
- The South of Paris (Montparnasse, Montsouris, Vaugirard) is more popular but nevertheless composed of High Middle-Class people.
- The Center of Paris is also rich and it has been invaded by a new population
since about 10 years. French people call them the "BO-BO", that means "Bourgeois-Boheme", translated "Bourgeois-Gypsies". This population voting left, with green ideas has nevertheless high earnings and enough money to live in beautiful "lofts" at 5 minutes of "Les quais de la Seine".
- The North and the East of Paris are inhabited by people with less money. Mainly the middle-class, the working-class and the immigrants. But since some years, the BO-BOs are also arriving there as they find nice apartments or houses at prices much lower than in the Center of Paris.
Paris is the 5th rich city in the world. Then, we can consider parisians as people with a high level of earnings.
