find an hotel in paris france
Finding an hotel is not that easy in Paris when you don't know the town. It can of course depend on your budget but take care before making your choice. Some low-cost hotels are occupied by foreign refugees as it's the town council of Paris who pays for them. So if you don't know what to do, always select your hotel after having read feedbacks on discussion boards, or after having visited the web site of the hotel. There are hundreds of good hotels in Paris so don't choose a bad one.
As in most of the countries, the hotels are rated by Stars. But in France, you can believe these ratings. The french administration strictly verifies yearly or even more that the hotel respects the rules of his classification.
1 STAR - It's a basic and low-cost hotel. Some are good for the price, others are not. The best way to know is word of mouth.
2 STARS - Generally middle or small size hotels, clean, with few services, but not too expensive.
3 STARS - Also called "Premiere Classe", these hotels are bigger, with good services, a restaurant, some employees speaking english and very clean rooms.
4 STARS - You are in High-Class hotels, with excellent services. Prices are high, of course.
5 STARS - This category didn't exist some years ago but according to the hich number of "very high-class" hotels built or re-designed, especially in Paris, the french government has decided to attribute the 5th STAR to some very "DE LUXE" Hotels. To name some of them, you have LE PLAZA ATHENEE, LE RITZ, LE BRISTOL or LE GEORGE V.
